Rimba Bristol Hemp Rope 5 m

Five metres of hemp rope. Hemp is what shibari was tied with before synthetics existed, and it behaves differently from everything else on the shelf: it grips itself, so a knot holds without being locked, and it has a texture the skin registers as rope rather than as fabric.

Five metres is one limb or a simple chest tie, so plan on several lengths for anything larger. Natural fibre sheds and can scratch until it is broken in; run it through a hand a few times before it goes near skin. Never wash hemp in a machine, because it stiffens and shortens. Wipe it, hang it to air, and store it coiled loosely away from damp.
