Realistic Dildos

A realistic dildo is a dildo shaped like a real penis, with a defined head, veins and often testicles, and the better ones copy the feel too: a firm core under a softer skin. It is the classic choice for anyone who wants penetration that looks and feels natural, alone or with a partner, and with a suction cup it can be used hands free or in a harness.

This is our largest dildo department, with around 140 realistic dildos from €7.95 to €167.95; half cost less than €24. Most are 18 to 26 cm long. Brands include Chisa, Max & Co, Lovetoy, Lux, King Cock, SilexD, Glazed, Baile and Pretty Love.

Not every realistic shape is made to be inserted. The Lovetoy Limpy limp dildo is a soft, flaccid packer of 14 by 2.8 cm in TPE, made to be worn in underwear for packing, drag or costume rather than used for penetration.

Size: read insertable length and width

The length on the box is the total length, but the base does not go in, so the insertable length is always shorter. Width matters more for comfort than length. For a first realistic dildo, about 15 to 18 cm long and 3.5 to 4 cm wide is comfortable for most people, for example the Chisa Fashion Dude series (17 to 22 cm, about 4 cm wide, from €22.95). At the other end sit the King Cock 12" (30.5 cm, 7.6 cm wide, €145.95), the SilexD Dual Density Model 1 15" (38 cm, 7 cm wide, €86.95) and the SilexD Premium Real Skin Model 1 (€167.95). The smallest is the Pretty Love Wildon at 13.5 cm (€11.95).

Feel: single, dual or triple density

Single density is one material throughout, often firmer or rubbery. Dual density combines a firm core with a soft outer layer, which is what makes a dildo give under the fingers like skin; the Chisa Fashion Dude, the SilexD Dual Density and the Liketrue Dual Layer models are examples. Triple density adds a third layer between core and skin, as on the Lux models (Karl, Otto, Hans, Fritz and the Lars, Paul, Bernd and Dirk with swinging balls, €13.95 to €44.95). Sliding skin dildos, from Pretty Love and Baile, have an outer skin that moves over the core, which many find the most lifelike of all.

Material

Silicone, and liquid or platinum silicone in particular, is non-porous, warms to body temperature, can be washed properly and lasts for years. TPE, PVC and latex feel soft and cost less but are porous, so treat them as personal toys, wash them after every use and use a condom if you share them. Glass dildos, like the Glazed crystal range (12.3 to 22 cm), are firm, smooth and can be used with any lubricant. Each product page names its material.

The base

A suction cup lets you fix the dildo to tiles, a door or the floor for hands-free use, and it usually fits a strap-on harness too; most Max & Co models have one. A flared base is essential for anal use, because it stops the toy from slipping in. Testicles add realism and give the hand something to hold.

Lubricant and care

Use water-based lubricant with silicone, TPE and PVC; silicone lubricant can make a silicone surface tacky. Wash before and after every use with warm water and mild soap or a toy cleaner, dry with a lint-free cloth and store each dildo on its own, out of sunlight, so materials do not react with each other.

Frequently asked questions

What size realistic dildo should I start with?

Around 15 to 18 cm long and 3.5 to 4 cm wide. Width matters more than length, because that is what you feel most. It is easier to move up later than to be put off by something too big. Every product page lists the insertable length and the diameter at the widest point.

What does dual density mean?

A firm inner core with a softer outer layer, so the dildo is stable enough to use but gives under pressure like real skin. Triple density adds a third, in-between layer for an even more lifelike feel. Single density models are the same throughout and usually firmer, which some people actually prefer.

Is a silicone dildo better than TPE or PVC?

For hygiene and lifespan, yes: silicone is non-porous, keeps its shape for years and can be cleaned thoroughly. TPE and PVC feel softer and cost less, but they are porous, so they need more careful cleaning and replacing sooner. If you share a TPE or PVC dildo, always use a condom over it.

Can I use a realistic dildo hands-free or in a harness?

Yes, if it has a flat base or a suction cup that is wider than the harness ring; most suction-cup dildos fit a standard O-ring harness. For hands-free use, press the suction cup onto a smooth, clean surface such as tiles, glass or a door, and wet it slightly for a better hold.

Is a realistic dildo safe for anal use?

Yes, as long as it has a flared base or suction cup that stops it from slipping in, you use plenty of water-based lubricant and you choose a size you are comfortable with. Start slimmer than for vaginal use, take your time, and wash the dildo before switching between anal and vaginal play.
