How the Black Friday shelf works

Every product on the Black Friday shelf is picked by hand from the biggest discounts in the shop, and most are between 25 and 39 percent off. Only products whose current price really is lower than their regular price can appear there, so when a deal ends, the product drops off the shelf by itself.

Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November. Some product types rarely make it onto the shelf, such as dildos and lubricant, so look at the sale page as well: it collects every reduced product in the shop.

How to recognise a real discount

• Look at the price you pay, not at the percentage. A big percentage on a toy you would never have bought is not a saving.
• Compare like with like. Many toys come in several lengths, sizes or versions. Check that the deal is for the exact model you wanted, for example a harness with or without a back panel, or lingerie in S/M rather than L/XL.
• Write down the prices on your wish list now. When you know what a toy has cost over the past weeks, you can tell at a glance on Black Friday whether a price is really lower.
